Sludge from a water treatment plant still contains a serious amount of water. To reduce the volume/weight and to reduce the discharge costs, water can be extracted from this sludge. The processes used for this are centrifugation or pressing on a filter-press / filter-belt-press. Sludge discharge equipment, generally consists of positive displacement pump sets.
The sludge can be dewatered with a screw press. Separates the sludge into a water- and a solid fraction.
Dewatering of sludge with a Decanter. Separates the sludge into a water- and a solid fraction.
Dewatering of sludge with a filter belt press. Splits the sludge into a water- and a solid fraction.
Thickens the sludge, resulting in a highly viscous liquid.
