Recyclables are processed with specific equipment to turn waste materials into reusable raw materials, new materials or new objects.


 

Waste to energy (W2E)

In a sorting line, organic fractions can be separated from the incoming waste flow. By treating these organic fractions in a digester, biogas can be created. This biogas can be used to create heat or it can be sent to a CHP (generator) to generate electricity.

Another way of creating energy from waste, is to separate plastics, paper, cardboard, etc. in a sorting line. These combined fractions can be used as RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel) / SRF (Solid Recovered Fuel) in a cement plant or power plant etc.
