A magnet is used to separate iron parts from a solid waste flow. The magnet can be static, or it can be combined with a belt, to transport iron parts automatically to a container. A static magnet is only used for small amounts of iron, or to protect equipment further down a sorting line.
Overband magnets are designed for use over a moving bed of material from which iron is to be removed.
The block magnet is mounted in a stable steel framework. This magnet is placed at the end of the conveyor to catch iron parts.
